I’m not sure what books you have been reading, but the only book I have ever read that claim all things came from nothing is the Bible.
If you are reading a book that claims all things came from nothing, I can guarantee that it is not a science book. What I can not guarantee, however, is that your understanding of real science is accurate. I find it highly likely your association of science with ‘something from nothing’ claims is based solely on misinformation.

By no means disregard dinosaurs, but my all means be suspect of modern science and their hypotheses b/c it is this same science that says that all things were created out of nothing – a scientific impossibility in and of itself.

Please don’t disregard reality in front of your face. Things for which there is observable evidence consensually validated, like dinosaurs, are very likely to be true. But feelings and emotions are subject to the frailties of the human brain. If we were to see reality by only our emotions, we’d never be able to decipher reality from schizophrenic delusion. Before you accept any claim, consider the reasons behind it and determine if they are justified by evidence and logic.

I know how you feel… my best tips is to keep walking and be strong, pray pray pray! The power of praying! Read the bible to understand God more and listen to songs like this. It will be good, but remember to be strong and not letting the devil stop you. Hey guys. I think I found God this week. I felt him in me. I’ve always thought he was just an atavistic apothecaral tale used to frighten the uneducated populus from times of yore, but recently Ive realised I was wrong. Please, does anyone else here feel him too? Im confused, everything makes no sense now…Am I supposed to disregard dinosaurs completely?

I also agree that longer conversations should be left off of comment sections, which is why I always suggest private messaging. That isn’t always favored by others, though. I do feel that these conversations are of momentous importance, however, through any medium.
Hopefully, I’ll get private messages and discontinuing cluttering up the wall.

I disagree. Arguments between religions have caused too many conflicts, yes. But conversational intolerance of religious claims is necessary to further the progressive intellect and morality of the human species. People have the right to believe anything, yes. But beliefs influence actions, and actions influence everyone else. Thus, unjustified beliefs (like religion) which harm others are fair game and should be treated with conversational intolerance and argumentation.

i think that you should both take a break from childish fighting, religious arguments have already caused too many conflicts.
everyone is entitled to believe what they want to and live by whatever founds their beliefs and opinions.
you don’t have to believe what you don’t want to but both of you, stop trashing each others pinions and just listen to the music after all, that’s what the music videos are for.

I agree! The misunderstanding comes from lack of clarity on my part due to it being the early hours of the morning!
What I meant with linking science and evidence was atheist intepretations or assertions that everything came about by nothing, with no God and there is no need for one. That is what many have rejected. If it isn’t still clear, I apologise due to the time and invite you to PM me.
Evidence I use not as proof btw, but as in a court where each side gives evidence and it is weighed up

For example, the majority of people who define themselves as Christian also accept the scientific fact of evolution. And the majority of people who accept evolution are Christian. Science says nothing about the existence of a god.
Atheism is a combination of the prefix “a-”, meaning without, and theism, meaning a belief in a person god. Together,” without a belief in a personal god”. Please note that this does not also imply the positive claim that no god exists.

Oh boy.
“Science” does not mean “atheistic”. Science is a method for understanding reality, nothing more. Scientific discoveries, such as the red-shifting of galaxies, the tendency for simple molecules to form amino acids, or variations in allele frequencies among populations are statements of the reality of the world we live in. An understanding of reality does not make belief in a god(s) impossible. Science is NOT atheist.

By atheist evidence I mean theories that science suggests, such as spontaneous generation, an uncaused big bang etc I do not suggest an atheist group got together and put down an official list of evidence to say there is no God.
Atheist as in no-God/ Creator for all things.

There exists no atheist evidence to the contrary. It is not needed to justify a lack of belief in a god. The absence of any evidence for the claim of a god is sufficient. (In what I’ve just said I am assuming, although I find it unlikely to be the case, that you are using the proper definitions of “atheist”.)
And no, I don’t require such high standards of evidence. A mere scrap would be a start.

Ah, you see now you ask for something else. You wanted evidence – now you want the ultimate proof – which would be to see God face to face and touch him etc… Yes you may see it as unsound, but then 2 billion Christians, and countless others from other religions reject atheist evidence to the contrary.

Emotion may temporarily cloud judgment of reality, yes. And a proud person may be blind to some truths. But to suggest that all atheists are proud is a gross and intellectually dishonest, as well as falsifiable claim.
It will suffice to say that I have read or indirectly analyzed the “evidence” put forth by others, and found it unsound. If there is an argument that you feel is so obvious and think me a fool for rejecting it, please message me. I’d love to be proven wrong.

Not at all – emotion not only clouds judgement they also can make you ignore reality. Like the person who is so angry and convinced someone has done something and won’t listen to any reason or evidence that it isn’t so till they have been calmed down.
As for evidence, there are plenty of books out there already by philosophers, Christians or your friendly neighbourhood ex-atheist.
